At the clinic:
On arrival please present yourself at the reception desk to notify our friendly staff of your arrival.

The orthoptist will take a history and perform age appropriate eye test for vision accuracy and eye movements. At the conclusion of the orthoptist’s assessment, eye drops will be instilled to dilate the pupils in order for the ophthalmologist to perform a comprehensive eye examination.

Once instilled, you will be asked to take a seat in the waiting room for the dilating drops to work. Dilating eye drops may take up to 2 hours (especially for darker coloured eyes) to work.

Once the pupils have dilated, your ophthalmologist will complete the assessment. Your ophthalmologist will perform a thorough assessment explaining his/ her findings, any implications and treatment.  Please note the total duration of the appointment may be as long as 3 hours.

Information will be communicated to your referring doctor or optometrist.

Please be mindful that dilating drops will blur your child’s vision and your child’s pupils will remain dilated for 4-6 hours. Please be mindful that your child may find it difficult to read and do any homework.

Fees are payable at the end of the appointment by cash, EFTPOS, Visa or Mastercard.  We do not accept American Express.
